Natural Lands Summer Technician
Do you love the natural lands? Want to work outside? learn practical natural resources management skills? learn how to identify plants and animals? We are hiring up to three students for the summer (June — August) doing mostly outdoor work needed to maintain and expand forest, prairie, and wetland restorations on the St. Olaf Natural Lands. Work will focus on removing invasive species, seed collection, trail maintenance, and continued ecological monitoring. You will learn local plant identification and gain ecosystem restoration skills.
You will also gain basic knowledge on safely and successfully operating and maintaining light motorized equipment such as brush saws This position will add experience in conservation and land management to your resume. You may have the option to continue working during the school year.

2025-2026 School Year Natural Lands Technician

We are hiring students for the school year to assist in maintaining forest, prairie, and wetland restorations on the St. Olaf Natural Lands. Work will focus on removing invasive species, seed collection, trail maintenance, prescribed fire, brush removal, and more. You will learn local plant identification and gain ecosystem restoration skills.

2025-2026 Student Naturalist
Work with the Natural Lands in an outdoor education focused position. Student Naturalists work as a community engagement position, learning local natural history, hosting educational events, and working with visiting groups. This position includes additional independent projects, writing content, and working closely with other Student Naturalists to complete tasks.

2025 Student Summer StoGrow Farmer
The STOGROW farmers learn about organic farming methods and best practices in order to grow vegetable crops to be sold to the campus food service. The one acre farm enables students to experiment with different crops and develop plans to maintain/improve soil fertility, as well as maintain a manual for future farmers.
