St. Olaf hosts birthday bash in honor of 150th
More than 300 alumni and friends of the college joined St. Olaf faculty and staff members at the Lumber Exchange Event Center in downtown Minneapolis for a Sesquicentennial Celebration on February 21.
Oles arrived decked out in their black and gold, and throughout the evening members of the St. Olaf Jazz Band, conducted by Joseph Jefferson, provided festive music. Director of Engagement and Alumni and Parent Relations Ellen Draeger Cattadoris ’07 welcomed guests and provided remarks alongside Alumni and Family Board Representative Annie Waters ’01 and Alumni Board Student Representative Solveig Senf ’27.
Ole the Lion assisted President Susan Rundell Singer with blowing out the candles on the college’s 150th birthday cake. In her remarks, Rundell Singer reflected on the college’s rich history and the promise of the future, which will be guided by the college’s new strategic plan.
Along with celebrating St. Olaf and its community, the evening’s message was one of gratitude to all alumni and friends who support the college through their gifts of time, talent, and treasure. Thank you, Oles!
